Known for his amazing work on Black Panther, Ludwig Goransson served as the composer for the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. The franchise has had a long history of critically-acclaimed music, with Goransson’s use of organic instruments setting a unique tone that fits The Mandalorian.

To showcase Goransson’s unique scores, Vanity Fair shared a new music video starring the composer performing The Mandalorian’s main theme in the locations featured on the show. You can check it out below!

“You’re following this character throughout the show, and he wears a helmet, so he doesn’t have any facial expressions,” Goransson told the outlet. “I’m the facial expression. The music is the facial expression, telling how he feels going through this journey.”

“It’s definitely in the instrumentation and the baby’s theme that we gave him in the first season, which is kind of the first hint of pure human emotion that we play for Mandalorian,” he continued. “It’s electric guitars, actually, playing the broken children’s tune that comes up kind of sad.”

However, throughout the season, the tune “builds and builds.” Goransson says the end of episode eight is where the music “connects the two together,” taking on a different dimension.

Goransson certainly put a great amount of work and effort into creating music for the show. He also revealed that he'll begin writing the score for Season 2 and fans can’t wait to see what he comes up with when The Mandalorian returns on Disney+ this October.
