Along with the various lightsabers that were featured on Star Wars movies, series, games, and novelizations over the years, it looks like a new saber will make its debut that ought to get the fans intrigued.

The indication of a new saber has been coming from merchandising information or listings as of late. This time, a new lightsaber will seemingly make its debut as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic release. The publishing event was meant to take place this summer but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Set 200 years before the Skywalker Saga, The High Republic is basically new territory so there could be tons of new things bound to happen that fans aren't expecting. So the possibility of getting a new lightsaber isn't unlikely.

In the Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection canon reference book listing, it is expected to contain a "comprehensive visual guide" in exploring the iconic lightsabers of the franchise. It'll also feature the history of these sabers and how they came into fruition, including the legendary Darksaber and Darth Maul's double-bladed saber. The most intriguing part of this listing is a new lightsaber from The High Republic. While there were no further details mentioned, this new weapon seems to be promising.

A new beginning within the franchise comes new lightsabers, so this doesn't come as a surprise for fans. However, since there's not much known about The High Republic's setting, there could be much more than meets the eye with this new saber.

Star Wars: The High Republic arrives in January 2021.
