While some players might be looking forward to the game's dogfights, Star Wars: Squadrons will also feature an exciting single-player mode. Set for release this October, fans and players finally get a first look at the game's single-player campaign and it's nothing short of epic!

During Gamescom: Opening Night Live, a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons game was released, giving a preview of the single-player experience. "Fly as two opposing pilots in Star Wars: Squadrons' thrilling single-player story," the description reads. "Set shortly after the destruction of the second Death Star.

The start of the game lets players create two customizable pilots, one for the New Republic and the other for the Galactic Empire. Squadrons will let you see how the war unfolded from both of the pilots' perspectives too. In the trailer, which you can check out above, a mission that takes place early in the game is shown. It features Admiral Rae Sloane giving Terisa Kerrill orders on eliminating Project Starhawk.

Writer Jo Berry says Squadrons is "fundamentally about teamwork" so players need a team during the single-player story to "learn the ropes." The game isn't just about winning the war, it's about "winning it their way."
