Known as a Corellian smuggler from Shadows of the Empire, Dash Rendar became a fan-favorite character amongst a number of Star Wars fans. And while the character has only appeared in the game and novel, it looks like the character is ought to be killed off once he's made canon in the big screen.

A fan asked Rogue One: A Star Wars Story co-writer Gary Whitta if he would be interested in returning to the Star Wars universe to make a film following Dash Rendar's story. It seems like Whitta would be willing to do so, in one condition. He has to kill the character. You can check out his tweet below.

For some fans, it would be a shame if the smuggler was to be killed off so soon once canonized. It looks like Shazam! actor Zachary Levi would be disappointed too since he has expressed his desire to play the Star Wars character for a while now. Regardless, if Whitta were to actually make this movie happen, fans would definitely be interested in seeing his take on the character.

For now, it looks like a Dash Rendar movie won't be happening anytime soon. However, a Rogue One prequel series is set to be released on Disney+ soon. Tony Gilroy will write and direct the show, while Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will be reprising their roles.
