Star Wars: Episode IX Leaks Suggests That Treason Might Be Committed By The Person We Weren't Expecting At All

Nearing the release of The Rise of Skywalker, fans are anticipating J.J. Abrams' work to make a smooth transition and conclusion to the anticipated trilogy since the movies prior to this caused a division among the fans.

Lucasfilm has been keeping the plot of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker a major and mysterious secret. And while the fans can't help but wonder what exactly is going to happen in the upcoming film, reports and rumors are going out regarding an essential character to be revealed in the story.

According to a recent post by Redditor JediPaxis, Rey and the other will be somehow saved by the mole that Finn and Poe were receiving information from within the First Order.

This rumor sheds light on the attempts of Rey and the others as they escape the First Order. Suggesting that General Hux was the one who let them get away and went so far as to lead them to the location of the Falcon. Other reports speculate that Kylo Ren has been suspicious of someone within the First Order, and as it turns out, he might be right.

Seeing that this might be true, rumors also suggest that once Rey and the others make a break for the Falcon to escape, Kylo will kill General Hux for treason. General Pryde will then be the sole commander, in lieu of Hux.

This might come as a surprise for fans as there have been various candidates for who the mole would be with regards to the leaks. Much like Palpatine's revelation as Darth Sidious, General Hux's character is not what it seems to be. His actions will be an effort to do his part in taking down the Supreme Leader.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
