Star Trek: Picard's first season comes to a close this week and fans got their first look at the finale with photos from CBS All Access. To celebrate, a new featurette gets released on Sir Patrick Stewart's Instagram account, sharing a message to the fans as well as a surprise gift.

The video features a celebration of the Star Trek legacy and a message of optimism for the franchise's future. "Caring for the good of other people, living honestly, being compassionate, understanding that there was an absolute necessity for everyone to be treated in the same way," Stewarts says in the clip. "That was at the heart of Star Trek, how to become more human."

Picard and Discovery co-creator Alex Kurtzman was also featured in the video, talking about Star Trek's vision that humans, as a species, "can be better." Along with Kurtzman is Discovery's Anson Mount, expressing her love for the franchise and how she's happy to be in it as well. Sonequa Martin-Green was also in the video as well. As you may have noticed, the actor captioned the video with a surprise announcement for the fans. He says CBS is gifting fans free CBS All Access for one whole month starting today until the 23rd of April to get you occupied during the quarantine period. Fans will be able to watch Picard for free in the US with the code "GIFT." You can sign up here.

Stewart also noted that he is excited to be reunited with the cast again for season two. As fans may already know, the show has already been renewed for a second season prior to its release.
