Tony Revolori is reportedly reprising his role as Flash Thompson from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home for an Agent Venom series being developed by Sony.
The news comes from a source that spoke to We Got This Covered, who sadly had no more info to offer about the purported project.
Agent Venom, who made his debut in 2011, is an alter ego of Flash. This made the character more than just a bully to Peter Parker. Flash developed a friendship with Peter as he set out to live a life of heroism to emulate his life-long idol, Spider-Man.
So after college, Flash joins the United States Army. He was sent to Iraq to fight a war, during which he sustained several bullet wounds in the legs that, in turn, had to be amputated.
Upon returning from the war, he fell into the pit of alcoholism as he tried to find relief and freedom from the dark memories of the horrible things he went through and the though that his life will never be the same.
To end his misery, he ultimately decided to bond with the symbiote in the hopes of getting his normal life back. His risk paid off as the symbiote grew a pair of legs for him that allowed him to walk again.
The Flash that fans saw in Spider-Man: Homecoming is a far cry from what Agent Venom is, so it would be a bit weird to see Revolori jump to this heroic version of the character. At the moment, the only similarity between this current iteration of Flash and his military vet counterpart is that they both hold Spider-Man in such a high regard.
An Agent Venom TV series starring Revolori indicates that the respective Spider-Man universes that Sony and Marvel are building aren't so separate after all. But remember, Kevin Feige has been very adamant about Tom Holland's Peter Parker being entirely separate from the Spider-Man universe started by Tom Hardy's Venom. So whether or not this project is happening, fans will just have to wait and see.
