Matt Reeves' The Batman will bring forth a new version of the Dark Knight in the form of Robert Pattinson. The film will feature a few of the Caped Crusader's adversaries, such as Catwoman, Penguin, and The Riddler. However, is there more room for the Clown Prince of Crime?

According to The Direct, Reeves is planning to introduce a new version of the Joker into his Batman trilogy. The villain won't make a surprise appearance in The Batman, instead, he'll be referenced in the 2021 film. Joker is then expected to appear in the second and third movies as one of the multiple foes who are bound to come across Pattinson's Dark Knight.

The outlet pointed out that casting for the role is yet to begin and the sequel is still a ways away. That said, this will give fans some time to speculate and ponder about which actor they think will be a good fit to play the iconic villain.

This is certainly some exciting news as a new actor dons the cowl, a new version of his nemesis is coming as well. Should this rumor get confirmed, whoever takes on the role of the Joker is a big deal, especially following Joaquin Phoenix's performance in the 2019 film.

Of course, this is only a rumor so fans should take this with a grain of salt. Regardless, this is pretty exciting news that ought to get the fans talking.
