New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Image May Have Been Manipulated To Hide A Major Luke Plot Point

There's a lot to see in the bunch of new images from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but there is a particular one that seems to have been doctored to hide a major plot point in the film.

As you know, Luke died at the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi after Force projecting himself to Crait all the way from Ahch-To. He simply vanished, but it was assumed he died and became one with the Force.

His return in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker isn't surprise, but it is the manner of how that will happen is what intrigues fans. Now, with a photo of Luke Skywalker from Vanity Fair, we might just learn about his true fate.

There's nothing odd about it at first glance until it is compared next to a Vanity Fair image from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Cosmic Book News noticed that the Luke's gloved arm looks very similar to the one in that image from years ago.

The glove from the older shot might have been juxtaposed to this new one to hide something. If Luke is shown to have a robot hand, then it is likely that he is still very much alive. If it is flesh, then it can be assumed that he is a Force ghost already.

However, it is to be pointed out that the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker image appears to be from the flashback of Luke's Jedi academy being burned to the ground first glimpsed in The Force Awakens.

If this is the case, this means that he is still very much alive at this point, so it makes sense. Why Vanity Fair will reuse the gloved hand photo for this new image implies that there is something that Disney doesn't want fans to see yet. What do you think?
