There's already multiple Marvel series set for release on Disney+, like the Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision, She-Hulk, and many more. However, it looks like another character would add to that growing list, with an Ironheart series reportedly in development at the studio.

In a recent report from The Cinema Spot,Ironheart is already "in active development" at Disney+, and the studio is even planning to start shooting sometime next year. The outlet claims a writer has yet to be officially attached to the project but Marvel is "taking pitches."

Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato, Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a 15-year old engineering student. The character first appeared in 2016's Invincible Iron Man #7, she made and wore a suit that's based on Iron Man's armor.

There were no further details provided by the outlet, but it certainly is a cool idea. If the character would go on to have her own series on Disney+, this could be a way for Ironheart to eventually join the likes of Kate Bishop in the Young Avengers. For now, there's not much stock to be put on this, so fans should take this rumor with a grain of salt. That being said, an Ironheart series is also a good way for the character to take Iron Man's mantle, moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The outlet says there was no release date announced for Ironheart as well.
