It was recently reported that James Dean was cast for a secondary lead role in Finding Jack with the use of CGI. Many people are on the fence about this issue and aren't particularly fond of resurrecting Dean for a new movie, including MCU star Chris Evans, who is very familiar with the use of special effects in films himself.

Evans took to Twitter to share his disappointment regarding the CGI casting. He thinks that it is "awful." The actor also made a sarcastic remark saying, "I'm sure he'd [Dean] be thrilled." He even made examples of taking CGI too far. He wrote, "Maybe we can get a computer to paint us a new Picasso." He thinks that the lack of understanding is "shameful." You can check out his tweet below.

Putting late actors in films isn't particularly something new though since notable figures like Paul Walker and Bruce Lee were also placed in similar techniques in order to pull off the ending and make the story complete with the original actors.

One would point out that even Evans is involved with a franchise that heavily uses CGI to manipulate different effects on-screen. Like how the first Captain America movie shows the actor with a skinny body as opposed to his real figure. To be fair though, that was the only manipulation of his body and is nowhere near comparable to actually resurrecting someone using CGI.

Regardless of the criticisms, The Hollywood Reporter claims Dean's family supports the production of the movie. Anton Ernst, who is one of the directors of Finding Jack, went on to point out that they will take every precaution to ensure that Dean's legacy will be intact. Ernst assures the fans that they will not be let down.
