Marvel has shared the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what's to come in Phase 4. One of these was a teaser of some X-Men announcements at the San Diego Comic-Con last July 20th.
Having provided only a caption in their previous Twitter post saying "All Will Be Revealed," there has been a lot of speculations from fans for the new wave of the X-Men comics. With some suspecting that the Dawn Of X would be the banner for the first wave.
It looks like fans hit a bullseye on this one as Marvel has officially released a trailer for the Dawn of X. The trailer shows that following the conclusion of House of X and Powers of X miniseries by Jonathan Hickman are six ongoing series to be coming this Fall.
Hickman is said to write the flagship title, X-Men, together with Leinil Francis Yu as the artist. Tini Howard and Marcus To will be handling the Excalibur. Gerry Duggan along with Matteo Loli will be in charge of the Marauders. Jonathan Hickman and Ed Brisson for the New Mutants, with Rod Reis as the artist. Fallen Angels would be by Bryan Edward Hill and Szymon Kudranski. And lastly, X-Force is by Benjamin Percy and Joshua Cassara.
Just like what Senior Editor Jordan D. White previously stated, House of X and Powers of X would be the baseline or foreground for a "whole new world of X-Men stories" to come in the future. Adding that the Dawn of X books serves as the initial proof of this "new world" to "come to life."
This signals the "start of the new era" that will likely result in changing "how we think of the X-Men." He then ends his statement with an intriguing line saying, "It all begins here."
Hickman's plans for X-Men would be a great way to redefine such characters and evolving into a new era would be astonishing to witness for X-Men fans.
The six ongoing X-Men series are coming this Fall.
