Along with the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga with The Rise of Skywalker, Mark Hamill's time in the beloved Star Wars franchise is seemingly over. However, a new rumor suggests that this isn't exactly the case.

The rumor comes from Disney insider WDW Pro shared on the WDW Magic Forums as part of a larger rumor about the House of Mouse's future plans with CGI technology for live-action movies.

Allegedly, Lucasfilm has inked a deal with Mark Hamill "without much fanfare within the past 18 months," permitting them to produce films that will feature a CGI version of Luke Skywalker. Within that contract, the rumor also suggests Disney is given the ability to use CGI faux-reality Luke in Galaxy's Edge "anytime soon."

That being said, the insider speculates that given Disney's current financial situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, it's unlikely for a CGI Luke to arrive in Galaxy's Edge in the future. It was also noted that these rumored projects are part of Disney's larger initiative to transition in computer animation as a substitute for the actual actors.

As always, with rumors like these, it's best to take them with a grain of salt. However, it would be interesting to see how Disney will incorporate the Luke Skywalker CGI into future Star Wars films.
