Legends of Tomorrow's Ray Palmer and Nora Darhk just got married and the "Romeo V. Juliet: Dawn of Justness" episode bids farewell to the beloved characters. Some fans are quite upset that the real-life couple Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford made their exit from the show, and Routh himself isn't that enthusiastic about it as well.

"On one level, I'm happy [that Ray and Nora got married]," Routh told TV Guide before the episode aired. "It's a future I did see for them so I don't think it's wrong that they're married." That said, the actor thinks the journey to making that happen for both characters should have happened progressively or doesn't have to be quite sudden. "The exit is also very quick and forced, and so I have challenges with that on a personal level," the actor added.

Routh says the episode was a "mature" one since it dealt with "heavy subject matter" and is an "emotional" episode as well. "I think Legends does that from time to time," he said. "but this is even more standout in that respect for me.

The characters will now be moving on to another phase in their lives and the "Dawn of Justness" episode marks the pair's last outing to go on a journey without their superhero friends.

That said, although some might think that he isn't happy about he and his wife's character leaving the show, it looks like Routh just wanted a different story to show their departure and that he might find it hard to exit from a show that he loves.

New episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
