Latest Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Report Teases Rey's Relation To A Legacy Character

There's a new rumor going around surrounding a big revelation on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker regarding Daisy Ridley's Rey.

This report comes from Making Star Wars, a reliable source for anything related to the production of the films. It was recently revealed at a Patreon exclusive that Redditor SorryNotSpartacus has shared on the platform.

[Potential spoilers below]

Apparently, in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, we will learn that Rey is actually the daughter of a legacy character--and it's none other than Han Solo. The interesting part is that she isn't Leia's.

This would mean that she is not a Skywalker. Her mother is apparently a woman that Han had an affair with when he and Leia were estranged. This is reportedly during the time Leia trains with Luke to learn the ways of the Force, which she ultimately decided not to pursue it.

She apparently returned to Han after ditching the training. Ben Solo allegedly knew about the affair but not about Rey, at which point he was sent to Luke to be trained.

Making Star Wars notes that it also wouldn't be a stretch to think Han was capable of doing that since in Star Wars books, the former smuggler didn't really know how to be a dad. In fact, The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams had planned to introduce Han in The Force Awakens with a drink in hand, which also somehow ties into The Last Jedi's revelation that Rey was sold by "nobodies" for drinking money.

The whole thing also connects to a previous report from Making Star Wars about a flashback scene featuring post-Return of the Jedi Luke and Leia, which the publication speculates will answer the question as to why the latter didn't become a Jedi even though she was Force-sensitive like her twin brother.

As to who the mother is, one thing that the publication was sure about is that it won't be Keri Russell's character Zorri. Read the whole post below.
