It is inevitable for fans to associate Marvel with Disney ever since the latter acquired Marvel Studios back in 2009. And while some aren't particularly happy with the House of Mouse's ownership of Marvel, president Kevin Feige thinks entirely of the opposite.

Feige recently made an appearance on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter. He opened up about recognizing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's potential back when they were making Iron Man. He then admitted that Marvel's 2009 acquisition was, in his point of view, "the greatest thing that ever happened" to them.

He went on about how Marvel movies wouldn't be the same if it weren't for the House of Mouse. "If Disney hadn't bought us, we wouldn't have seen the movies we've made since then." He seems sure about his statement and claims that he doesn't think it would be possible without the 2009 acquisition.

Feige also talked about how Marvel Studios worked with partners that were actually invested in what they were doing because they found a "home" with Disney. He explains that it makes a big difference when you have a "home." and that it's "special" to have someone like Bob Iger who is invested in the success. Feige admits that he felt they were "in great hands."

With Avengers: Endgame being the highest-grossing film of all time proves that the acquisition has had some great results throughout the years. It's safe to say that the years have been fruitful for both Marvel and Disney.

Surely enough, there will be even more successful projects to come in the following years. Especially since Disney's streaming platform will be launching on November 12 and is set to release Marvel series in the near future.
