It has been known that John Krasinski auditioned for the role of Captain America and the actor has shared a couple of stories about it in the past. Every time the topic is brought out, Krasinski is always open to sharing a new story, and this time, it's about his encounter with another Marvel superhero actor.

In a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, Krasinski recalled his audition for the part where he gets to try on the superhero suit. "I was putting the suit on and I was halfway up, not wearing any other clothes other than this," he said. However, right at that moment, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth walked by and complimented Krasinski. "I was like, ‘Nope! You know what, it's fine, we don't have to do this,'" he said as he was taking off the suit.

Krasinski joked about his confidence which seemingly got diminished because of Hemsworth's physique. "He was just jacked," Krasinski added. "He's like, 'You're gonna look great in that suit!' I was like, 'Don't make fun of me, Hemsworth.'"

"And so, I just walked away right there," he added, which was also a joke too since he admitted that he acted his heart out that day. Unfortunately, "it didn't work out."

Although Krasinski didn't get the part, he did go on such a successful road with his Jack Ryan series as well as writing and directing the well-praised A Quiet Place movie, with a sequel already set for release later this year. In addition, while he didn't get to play Captain America, Krasinski has always been a fan-favorite choice for Marvel's Mr. Fantastic.
