James Gunn's The Suicide Squad will be featuring a whole new roster of epic characters. One of the anticipated actors in the film is WWE Superstar John Cena who is set to take on a DC Comic character. There's not much known about the movie yet, but it looks like Cena's very much excited for the fans to finally see it.

In a recent interview with Collider, Cena was gushing about the movie screenplay. He revealed that he was "blown away" upon reading the script for the first time. "The first 10 pages [are] like a movie in itself," he said. "It's really, really special." This is because Cena thinks Gunn, "the guy steering the ship," is very much "committed" to the "narrative" and creating characters that they were able to connect with. "I mean what he did with [Guardians of the Galaxy] is really special," he added. Cena then went on to praise the director for his passion and dedication.

Gunn previously shared a photo on his Instagram account teasing multiple characters to appear in the film, including Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who and John Cena's wrestling figure. The director didn't directly confirm yet, but fans speculate that he's also hinting on the potential appearance of King Shark.

Details are yet to be revealed about the upcoming movie, but it is known that Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman will be reprising their roles.

The Suicide Squad is set for release on Aug. 6, 2021.
