Fans have speculated that Adam Warlock might be making an appearance in a Marvel movie in the future after being teased in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. James Gunn will be directing the movie but is yet to start production. However, he recently addressed the possibility of the character's appearance in GOTG 3.

Gunn recently did a Q&A session on his Instagram account. A fan asked the director about the actor that will play Warlock in the upcoming movie. Of course, fans would expect that the director would somehow drop hints about the casting. However, that is not the case. Gunn appears to be suggesting that Warlock won't be featured in GOTG 3. He wrote, "I never said Adam Warlock was in the movie."

Fans have been waiting for Warlock's appearance for quite a while. The character was even expected to show up in either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. However, this wasn't pushed through; because according to Stephen McFeely, Endgame was focused on honoring the existing MCU characters, so Warlock wasn't given a story space because the character would need to be introduced.

That being said, Gunn hasn't started production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 since he is supposed to finish the Suicide Squad movie first, which comes out on August 6, 2021. Who knows? There might be some changes prior to filming for the movie, so it is still possible that Warlock could appear in GOTG 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is yet to have a release date.
