James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is still in production. Since his work on Guardians of the Galaxy had quite a good reception, fans are expecting a lot with his upcoming DC movie. With Gunn now handling big projects in his career, he shares his thoughts about his passion for directing.

Gunn recently did a Q&A session on his Instagram account. One of his fans was curious if Gunn thinks directing feels more like a job now since he's "making money off of it." To which the director responded, "It definitely feels like a calling and passion more than a job - now more than ever." He claims that there would be "much easier ways" to make money. Gunn then admitted that making The Suicide Squad "reinvigorated" his creative life "like nothing before it," and is always grateful every time he steps on set.

Now that Gunn is involved with making movies for both DC and Marvel, two of the largest franchises in the industry, there would be changes in terms of money and opportunities for the director. That being said, it's good to know that Gunn sees this as something he could work his craft on, which only means that he could create something great as a result of his passion for directing.

Gunn was also reinstated to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Part of his deal with Disney is to start on GOTG once he is able to finish the production for The Suicide Squad.

The Suicide Squad is expected to premiere on August 6, 2021.
