After a Twitter exchange, meeting over at Mark Hamill's house for a cup of coffee, and speculations from fans starting last year, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn finally addressed the possibility of Mark Hamill being featured in the sequel.

Gunn recently held a Q&A session on his Instagram account. The director has been answering multiple questions from fans regarding the Suicide Squad, directing, and even questions about break-ups. One fan, in particular, was curious whether or not the Star Wars alum is still in talks to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Unfortunately, after a while of speculating for Hamill's appearance, fans have learned that Gunn and Hamill never had the talks the fan speaks of. You can check out their exchange below.

Gunn had a short and straight response to the answer and didn't reveal anything more about the matter. He also didn't mention his thoughts on the potential appearance, and if he would actually like Hamill to appear in the upcoming Marvel movie.

Fans were expecting to see Hamill in the movie and some of them even speculated that he could play the role of Rocket Racoon's master. However, it looks like fans wouldn't be able to see this happen. Nevertheless, there's still some time before Gunn will start working on GOTG 3, so it is possible that some changes and considerations might happen along the way.

For now, Gunn is currently working on The Suicide Squad which comes out on August 6, 2021. He can only start production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 once he is finished with the DC movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is yet to have a release date.
