HBO Max has reportedly cast its own Constantine!

Well, that's according to Tyler Murphy of The Cultured Nerd, saying that there's already an actor up to play the part of Constantine, though he can't make the reveal just yet.

It's unknown whether this Constantine was cast in Star Wars director J.J. Abrams' Justice League Dark show, a new HBO Max series, or maybe even both. As for why the actor that was cast can't be made known to the public yet, Murphy says it's not his story to break, saying that it's not his place to scoop it, though it "won't be much longer" until it will be revealed.

Some fans would like Keanu Reeves or Matt Ryan to return as Constantine for HBO Max. With Reeves having played the part in the 2005 movie, while Ryan portrayed Constantine in his own NBC series, as well as in Legends of Tomorrow, and voiced the character for the Justice League Dark animated movie. While both actors are seemingly open to reprising their role, it looks like HBO Max has another star in mind. Murphy claims he "can confidently say" that the streaming service cast neither Reeves nor Ryan.

So there's the possibility that it'll be a new actor to portray Constantine. For now, there hasn't been any official word yet so it's best to take this rumor with a grain of salt. With Murphy claiming that it'll be revealed soon enough, maybe the upcoming second part of the DC FanDome event could bring us the news.
