Ever since the Disney/Fox merger, fans have been anticipating Doctor Doom's arrival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character could serve as the franchise's next big villain, but while his debut is likely well away, a new concept art may give the fans an idea of what the MCU iteration of Doom could look like.
Marvel Studios visual artist Charlie Wen took to Instagram to share the concept art, reimagining Doctor Doom as he wields the Infinity Gauntlet while holding the Mind Stone with his other hand. "Didn't spend time redesigning him for the big screen," Wen wrote. "Just wanted to throw out a fun ‘what if'..." You can check out the piece below!
It's still uncertain as to how Doctor Doom will make his eventual arrival to the franchise, but fans have been speculating about his debut since the merger. A rumor was previously revealed suggesting that WandaVision could feature Latveria, Doom's hometown, and could possibly set up his backstory.
Doctor Doom's thirst for power would have likely led him to be in pursuit of the Infinity Stones if he made his debut during the Infinity Saga. There's also a good chance that he could have come across Thanos in some way. However, it's likely better for these villains to shine on their own. Still, the idea of Doctor Doom wielding the gauntlet gives a glimpse of the possible reiteration of the character in the MCU.
