With other franchises alike, Star Wars does its own promotions and merchandise to cater to a huge fanbase. One of the things that Star Wars made in an effort to promote its movies are theme parks, including Galaxy's Edge. However, rumors have been going around which suggests that the park isn't performing well. And with the release of Disney's earnings for the year 2019, Galaxy's Edge true performance throughout the year has been revealed.

Disney recently released its fiscal reports on the Walt Disney Company website. The reports under Parks, Experiences, and Products category shows its revenues increased to 8%. The reports claim that the growth at the Disneyland Resort was mainly because of the expenses associated with Galaxy's Edge, however, it also faced lower attendance. The growth is said to be due to the increase in average ticket prices and "higher food, beverage, and merchandise spending."

So to put it simply, the report confirms that there's a decline in attendance at the park, including Galaxy's Edge, but this contrasts with the higher guest spending for merch and food.

It is worth noting that back in September of this year, Catherine Powell, Disney Parks West president, left the company. Details on why she stepped down from her position weren't revealed though. That being said, there's no telling if there's actually a correlation between the decline of attendance at Galaxy's Edge and Powell's leave.

For now, a new ride is expected to launch at Walt Disney World Resort on December 5 and at Disneyland Park on January 17, 2020. The ride will be called The Rise of the Resistance and is said to give fans the experience of being in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20.
