With the Avengers: Endgame concluding the Infinity Saga, what does the future hold for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? The Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to expand its franchise along with new characters. To know what the fans have to expect, Disney CEO Bob Iger addressed what lies ahead for the MCU.
Iger recently spoke in an earnings call with investors where he talked about moving forward without the Avengers. For now, it looks like the team has gone on their own ways but here’s what Iger has to say about it. “In, Marvel’s case, I’m calling it the post-Avengers world.”
However, even though he calls it that way, Iger pointed out that this doesn’t pertain to the absence of projects featuring the characters from the Avengers. After all, there’s a Black Widow film coming out as well as a Thor 4 movie in the works. He says he could go on and on about the upcoming projects to assure fans that the Avengers will still be part of MCU in multiple ways. Iger also mentioned that they will be “mining other characters” like Eternals (via Comic Book).
For now, there’s no Avengers movie planned out for Phase 4 and no news about the team on Phase 5 as well. However, fans can also look out for Marvel series to be released on Disney+. Including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, an animated series called What If…? And another handful of series slated in the following years.
And even though we won’t get to see the team reunite in the succeeding years, it is very unlikely that the Avengers would actually be gone.
