Chris Evans' part as Captain America has reached its apparent resolution in last year's Avengers: Endgame. The hero already took the chance to go back in time and live his life with Peggy Carter, indicating that Evans' time as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is done.

Speaking on the recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Evans explains why he wouldn't play the character again. "Yes – I think it is," he said when asked if it's really the end of Steve Rogers. "It was a great run and we went out on such a high note that it would be risky to revisit it in my opinion."

The actor reiterates that it was a "good experience" to be able to portray the character in various MCU movies. However, Evans thinks that Captain America's journey in Endgame is "better left that way."

His answer echoes his comments on returning as Captain America in a previous interview with co-star Scarlett Johansson. Evans thinks Cap had a "tricky act to stick the landing" but Marvel did a "nice job" in letting the character complete his journey. And if the studio ever decides to revisit it, the actor pointed out that it can't just be a "cash grab." It has to have a good explanation and for "a lot of things" to come together to explain his return.

Avengers: Endgame is available to stream on Disney+.
