There's no doubt that The Witcher, whether it be the game or the series, has been a success amongst fans. Aside from getting a 500% increase in sales for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ever since the show came out, its developer, CD Projekt is now Europe's second-biggest gaming company.

CD Projekt is just under France's Ubisoft, which was valued at $9.6 billion. While CD Projekt was initially valued at $6.5 billion a month ago, it definitely exceeded expectations, now hitting at $8 billion. Following the sale of The Witcher 3, as well as the massive success of the Netflix show adaptation, it's no wonder that the company has risen higher than what some expected it to be. Not to mention the highly-anticipated arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, which has a lot of hype surrounding its release.

The Witcher 3 was released back in 2015 and still remains one of the most popular games today, while the series, at one point, was even on track to becoming Netflix's biggest first season ever.

It's no secret that CD Projekt has a bright future ahead. The second season of The Witcher will be out in 2021, while fans await more adventures on screen, they'd surely be putting their attention on the game in the meantime to keep themselves occupied with more The Witcher content.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
