After a nine-year reign, Avengers: Endgame surpassed Avatar and became the highest-grossing film of all time. However, it seems like the movie is set to reach yet another milestone!

According to China Box Office observer Gavin Feng, China's official box office numbers were updated with a system correct, which resulted in Endgame gaining another $3 million. This all totals up to $2.8 billion which makes it the first-ever movie to earn such high numbers. You can check out the tweet below.

If Disney were to update its data, Endgame will not only be the highest-grossing film, it will also be the first film to get $2.8 billion in the box office. So for now, China's numbers aren't included in Disney's records yet but this is totally a new and epic record for Endgame.

Endgame made it into Oscar's shortlist for two categories, namely Best Original Score and Best Visual Effects. With a film that closes off the Infinity Saga and brings together the fans' favorite heroes, it's not surprising that the film has achieved all of these recognitions.

The movie's success is very much apparent and 2019 was definitely a good year for Marvel Studios, not to mention this update from China's box office numbers in just the beginning of 2020.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
