Production is underway for Ant-Man 3 with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly set to return. While director Peyton Reed can't reveal much of what's to come in the film, he has given us an update on the threequel, teasing that it'll be bigger than ever.

Speaking on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show, Reed says production on Ant-Man 3 took a hit from COVID-19 but there are some exciting things to look forward to. "We are working our way through the pandemic," he said. "There are some really exciting things in store, none of which I can speak to about right now. As is the Marvel way!"

As for how Ant-Man 3 differs from its predecessors, Reed teased, "I think the third Ant-Man movie is going to be…a much bigger, more sprawling movie than the first two." In addition, it'll also have a "very, very different visual template."

The first two Ant-Man films were described as some sort of heist movies, with the second one exploring the quantum realm. With Reed teasing a different visual template, it suggests that the third movie would take place other than in San Francisco, with the heroes potentially facing a global threat or maybe even returning to the quantum realm. Either way, it looks like Ant-Man 3 will be epic and crazy.

Ant-Man 3 is penned by Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness, the movie is expected to arrive in 2022.
