Josh Brolin on Deadpool 2 Possibly Making Fun of Thanos

With the meta nature of Deadpool's humor, a lot of fan are wondering whether the sequel will be poking fun at Josh Brolin for playing both Thanos and Cable. Brolin has been asked about this, and he seems very confident that the movie definitely will.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Brolin says:

"I can't imagine there's not going to be any [jokes about Thanos]. [Laughs] I'll put it that way. I'm up here right now in snowy Vancouver doing reshoots for Deadpool. Given that it's a satire of all superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, how can you not?"

With release dates for Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War so close together, people would think there wasn't enough time for a last-minute Thanos joke, but seeing that the movie can just edit whatever Deadpool says with his mouth covered, it certainly is on the realm of possibilities.

The writers probably already knew the ramifications of having Brolin play Cable in this movie, and seeing that Deadpool is always self-referential, how could they not take jabs at one of the biggest movies of the year?

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, John Wick) and is set for a release on May 18.
