Jon Bernthal Will Play as Punisher in Daredevil Season 2

Marvel and Netflix have cast Jon Bernthal as The Punisher for Daredevil's second season.

Bernthal, who's best known for playing Shane on AMC's The Walking Dead, will bring Frank Castle to life in Season 2 of Netflx's hit Marvel series, which is expected to premiere in the streaming service next year.

The last time Walking Dead fans have seen Bernthal's chararacter is when he took a bullet from Carl Grimes after changing into a Walker. Now, it's time for payback. I think he's a great choice to play the Punisher. Marvel didn't specify if his character will be an ally or villain to the Daredevil.

Marvel also unveiled the logo for Season 2:

"Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences," Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, told Marvel.com. "Castle's appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same."
