John Cena Joins New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon

The latest star to join Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can't be seen but he can be heard. Nickelodeon has announced that WWE Superstar John Cena has joined the voice cast as original character Baron Draxum. He will be an original villain designed for the series, so longtime fans shouldn't bother going through old comics or television episodes for this baddie.

Cena made the announcement in a video released by the official YouTube channel of Nickelodeon. The second man to become a 16-time World Champion in WWE will also reprise his role as the host for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, though one has to wonder how all of the people in attendance will see him.

Draxum will be debuting in the show's first episode. He has been described as "an alchemist warrior mutant who seeks to turn all of humanity into mutants." Expect this character to be in a number of episodes since Draxum will be one of the show's recurring villains.

Riseof the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be Nickelodeon's second TMNT animated series, with 2012's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ending after five seasons. The new 2D-animated series will debut with 26 episodes later this year.
