Joe Russo: How Every Marvel Movie Has Built Up To Avengers Infinity War

By the time Avengers: Infinity War comes out, the Marvel Cinematic Universe would already be ten-years-old, and the Russo Brothers are trying their best to make the movie feel like the all-end culmination of 18 Marvel movies.

Talking to Cinema Blend, co-director Joe Russo explains:

"Everything is setting up Infinity War. Every narrative that you have seen in any of the Marvel movies leading up to this point comes to bear in some way because all of the characters and all of the franchises are coming together, bringing their themes and their tone and the things that motivate the characters are driving them through this story. It has been the hardest part of the job for us, is melding all of that together, But thankfully, we got Markus and McFeely working with us. They are incredible collaborators. They wrote Winter Soldier for us, and Civil War. Now they're writing both Avengers movies. I feel like we've got a great Vulcan mind-meld between the two of them, and me and my brother."

It's definitely nice to hear that everyone is agreeing on the story, but we'll just have to wait and see if their efforts pay off when the movie comes out next year. Zack Snyder was so positive that everybody was going to love Batman v Superman, and look where that movie stands now.

I'm actually very excited to see what the Russo Brothers have in store for Infinity War. With Joss Whedon being burned out working on Avengers: Age of Ultron, I'm curious as to how having two heads sharing the director's chair is going to affect the film. I thought Civil War was alright, really. Let's see how it all turns out with the next two Avengers movies.

Avengers: Infinity War comes out May 4, 2018.
