Joe Morton: Cyborg Movie is Still Happening; Cut Scenes from Justice League Might be Used in the Film

Ever since Justice League bombed in the box office, we haven't really gotten any updates on the standalone Cyborg movie. The good news for Cyborg fans is, the movie is still on, and it could be using some cut scenes from Justice League was well.

Talking to /Film, Joe Morton, who plays Cyborg's father, had this to say about the standalone movie:

"I know there's supposed to be a Cyborg movie they're going to shoot in 2020… That's all I know. I haven't seen a script."

Morton also reveals that the Whedon reshoots had done the most changes to Cyborg's story in Justice League. A lot of his scenes were cut, but Morton says that they could be used for the solo film:

"Unfortunately, I can't tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie… Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film."

Apparently, Dr. Silas Stone (Morton) was supposed to die somewhere in the middle of Justice League, and by the end of the film, Cyborg will find a recording of him that will play over the ending montage online. Those lines were apparently given for Amy Adams' Lois Lane to say eventually.

Though Justice League wasn't received well, I thought that each member was actually cast perfectly. It's just a shame that the film wasn't what everyone wanted it to be. Hopefully Ray Fisher is still onboard for a Cyborg film. If anything, maybe we can even get a DCEU version of the Teen Titans going.

No release date has been set for Cyborg, but the movie was initially set for a 2020 release.
