This year's San Diego Comic-Con International hasn't even begun, but it looks like Warner Brothers has been busy rolling out photos, posters and making new announcements about the comic book movies it has in line.

Now, according to a report by Screen Rant, the studio has just officially announced the actual title of the Joker origin movie starring Academy Award-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix as well as the film's release date. Given the simple title Joker, the film has been set for release on October 4, 2019, allowing the non-DCEU comic book origin story to have more than a year to complete production and post-production.

Warner Brothers is really pushing hard to get Phoenix's Joker movie out, hoping that this little experiment they have with a separate DC banner might actually work. A low-budget superhero movie, Phoenix's Joker movie is set to be a character study of Batman's most iconic villains and the film will supposedly begin what many say is the studio's DC Dark or DC Black Banner. Seeing how the studio is prioritizing the Joker, it seems like Warner Brothers is eager to explore alternative methods at building superhero banners while it continues working on the DCEU.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see how fans are going to react to the new banner as soon as the Joker premieres next year.
