Warner Bros. Eyes Star Wars’ Keri Russell To Star In The Batman Movie

Veteran actress Keri Russell is just new to the world of lightsabers and spaceships. She's going to debut her character Zorii Bliss in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, one of the most anticipated sci-fi movies of the year. The conclusion to the Skywalker Saga isn't launched yet, but another big role is waiting for Russell in Hollywood.

We Got This Covered and its sources revealed that Warner Bros. is eyeing Russell to play one of the big roles in the upcoming Batman movie. But aside from the company's confirmation for Robert Pattinson's role as the main lead, we don't have the latest reports yet regarding the list of characters.

It's still unknown which part Russel is being considered for. But she's definitely on the top of the wishlist and might probably play the role of Martha Wayne, the mother of Bruce Wayne and the wife of Dr. Thomas Wayne. The character was previously played by other critically-acclaimed actresses like Sharon Holm, Eileen Seeley, Sara Stewart, Brette Taylor, Lauren Cohan, and Emma Paetz both in film and television series.

The Batman fandom is positive that Russell will give justice to the role if chosen as Martha Wayne. Russell came to fame with her portrayal as Elizabeth Jennings, one of the main characters from FX series' The Americans. Russell's impressive performance from the breakthrough role earned her several TV awards and nominations from the Emmys and Golden Globes.

In 2017, Russell cemented her name in the movie and film industry when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has recently joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker which will hit the cinemas in December 2019. Russell can also be seen on Mission: Impossible III, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and Extraordinary Measures.
