Marvel’s All-Female Superhero Movie, A-Force, Will Include Captain Marvel And Female Thor

Marvel has been teasing fans for months with its upcoming all-female superhero movie. This year alone, we saw an increasing number of movies highlighting female heroines. It seems like Marvel is working extra hard to bring fan-favorites to the A-Force movie because Captain Marvel and Female Thor are rumored to join the cast.

According to We Got This Covered, the adaptation of Marvel's ongoing series, A-Force, is already in development and we'll see some popular female heroes from Avengers: Endgame and Phase 4's new set of films.

Brie Larson and Natalie Portman are already in. We're still expecting the entry of Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and the yet to be revealed faces of She-Hulk and Miss America. Jennifer Walters or She-Hulk is one of the leaders of A-Force in the comics, but Captain Marvel also plays an important role in the pack.

At press time, we have yet to see who's going to be the female alpha in the movie adaptation. For what it's worth, bosses and actresses from Marvel Studios are rooting for Captain Marvel to take the lead.

Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige confirmed last March that Brie Larson's Captain Marvel would lead the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

"One of the highlights of my career at Marvel was introducing [Brie Larson] at Comic-Con and having her come out on stage and stand there with literally almost everybody else from our movies. There she was at the forefront, and it was a great foreshadowing – not just for how audiences are going to embrace Brie as this character, but also for how Captain Marvel is about to take the lead and be at the forefront of the entire Cinematic Universe," said Feige.

Ant-Man and The Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly also nominated Captain Marvel as the leader of A-Force. It's worth noting that Lilly was one of the actresses who pitched the idea for an all-female superhero movie.

"Well, it seems only natural Captain Marvel would lead because she is a general? And she's the captain. And Captain America leads the other Avengers, right, so maybe Captain Marvel would lead," Lilly said in an interview with PopBuzz.

Regardless of the ongoing discussions about the casting, Marvel will reportedly invite more female writers and directors on board. They will also start the development of She-Hulk to officially introduce the formation of the A-Force. The She-Hulk TV series will come to Disney Plus in 2022, while Jane Foster's Female Thor will debut at Thor: Love and Thunder in 2021. With this timeline, the A-Force movie is expected to hit the cinemas in 2023.
