Jigsaw First Trailer Promises To Take Back Halloween

The Saw franchise is back, and Lionsgate just dropped the first trailer for Jigsaw. Just like the previous films, the trailer shows off some creative ways to torture victims, and someone is doing the Jigsaw thing again. It seems that the investigators are "chasing the dead" again, but who's pulling the strings if John Kramer is dead? And the tagline, about Jigsaw returning to take back Halloween is a bold one.

A Saw film was released every October since 2004 through 2010 without missing a year, quickly becoming a Halloween defining franchise. Now after seven years since Lionsgate released Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, it's back, and it's interesting how this trailer plays from last seven Saw films. There are more exterior shots and the musical choices are not what fans would expect from a Saw film.

Synopsis:

Bodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade.

Jigsaw is directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, and it's set to release in theaters on October 27.
