Jeffrey Dean Morgan Responds To DC's Flashpoint Movie Announcement

DC has announced that the Flash's first solo outing has been titled Flashpoint, and the movie is said to follow the storyline from the Flashpoint Paradox comic. Seeing as Thomas Wayne plays such an important role in that comic, a lot of fans were curious if Jeffrey Dean Morgan was willing to reprise his role in Batman v Superman.

Morgan posted this on Twitter after the announcement:

What's more, he also shared this piece of fanart on his Instagram:

When Jeffrey Dean Morgan was first announced as Thomas Wayne, a lot of fans have considered it spot-on casting, and saw that he would make a great Batman should the Flashpoint movie ever happen. Morgan has said that he was willing to play the role before, and everyone is just waiting on DC to cast him in the Flashpoint movie.

To those who don't know, The Flashpoint Paradox is a comic written by Geoff Johns, and has the Flash going back in time to stop the murder of his mother. Knowing how time travel messes things up, an alternate reality was then created where Bruce Wayne was killed on that fateful night in Crime Alley instead, forcing his mother Martha (MARTHA!) to go crazy and become the Joker and Thomas Wayne to don the cowl of Batman.

There's also this whole thing with Aquaman and Wonder Woman planning world domination and Superman being raised as an alien prisoner by the government. It's a pretty dark story.

I think a Flashpoint movie would definitely be a good film, but personally it may be too early to have it happen in the DCEU. I mean, we're still getting to know these characters. Then again, I don't see why it shouldn't happen either. Hopefully Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Laren Cohan come onboard.

No official release date has been announced for Flashpoint, but Flash does appear in Justice League on Nov. 17.
