Jeff Goldblum Says Jurassic World 2’s Ian Malcolm Is A “Saucy, Sassy Man”

A lot of excitement bubbled up when news broke out that Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum would be reprising his role in J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World 2. The "Chaos Theory" mathematical specialist who served as an insurance consultant during the original Jurassic Park movie's cocky, sarcastic, know-it-all attitude made him stand out in the film, and a few of his scenes have become popular memes on the internet.

Now, speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Goldblum talks more about his return to Jurassic World 2 and calls his character " a saucy, sassy man."

"I like my character. I think my character is a saucy, sassy man of some integrity and deep thinking. And of course, that whole world continues to be popular, slam-bang, top entertainment. I talked to the director, J.A. Bayona, over the phone. I enjoyed his movie The Impossible with Naomi Watts, and he's something else. I didn't realize he was a good friend of a friend of mine, a director I worked with a while ago in Spain named Fernando Trueba, who's just fantastic. Knowing that the two of them are brethren and brotherly in their friendship makes me feel very good, too."

There's little information on the plot of the sequel to Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World, however it's good to know that Bayona's film will have Malcolm in character when he returns. It wouldn't be as fun without Malcolm's sassy know-it-all demeanor and his surprisingly seductive poses.

Written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, directed by Bayona, Jurassic World 2 features Chris Pratt, Bryce Howard,Ted Levine, Justice Smith, and Geraldine Chaplin. The film is currently in production and is set to come roaring in cinemas on June 22, 2018.
