James Wan Confirms That The Aquaman Trailer Is Coming Soon

It's official. The trailer for Jason Mamoa's Aquaman standalone movie is on its way.

Speaking with fans on Twitter, Aquaman director James Wan was asked when fans should expect to see the first trailer. Giving a quick reply that reminds everyone of his reputation as a director of horror movies, Wan posted a"*whispering* soon" on the social media platform.

With Aquaman scheduled to premiere in December this year, fans have begun expecting the release of the DC Extended Universe movie's trailer during the past few weeks. Though Wan doesn't give the exact date of the trailer drop, it does assure fans that marketing for Aquaman will begin soon.

It also might confirm the recent rumor that Warner Brothers is actually planning to bring an Aquaman trailer and panel discussion during their panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. What better place to premiere the trailer for its watery superhero film than at this year's SDCC?

Or maybe fans could expect the trailer to drop sooner. Who knows – Wan did say that the promotional footage would release soon. SDCC begins on July 19 and ends on July 22, making the trailer drop a month away. A month's wait might not seem like much to some, but it isn't "soon" either.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Aquaman premieres December 21.
