James Cromwell Talks About His Jurassic World Character’s Connection To Jurassic Park

It looks like Jurassic World 2 is doing its best to tie itself a little bit closer to the original Jurassic Park. Not only is the iconic dinosaur Rexy confirmed for the film, reports earlier this week revealed that Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum has been brought back to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic World sequel.

To tighten the knot even further, the film has James Cromwell playing the partner of the original Jurassic Park creator, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough).

Speaking with Larry King on Larry King Now, Cromwell talked about his role and how he was in charge of bringing the dinosaurs back to life.

"The character Richard Attenborough played, I'm his partner, Benjamin Lockwood. We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes. And so I'm trying to deal with the blowback from what we have done."

It's pretty understandable how Jurassic World 2 is trying to make deeper connections with the original Jurassic Park – the film is set in the same universe after all. Fans of the franchise would be glad to see Bayona making an effort in making the ties between the two even clearer in the Jurassic World sequel.

Jurassic World 2 is currently in production and is scheduled to come roaring into cinemas on June 22, 2018.
