Woman Burns Pennywise Doll That Fell in Her Backyard

IT: Chapter 2 is heading to theaters next month and although fans are excited to watch the Loser's Club face Pennywise The Clown once again, one couple got scared after seeing a Pennywise doll in their backyard. As USA Today reports, Renee Jensen and her boyfriend were relaxing outside their home in Harrington Park, New Jersey on Saturday when a plush doll fell from the sky into their backyard, and it turns out that the doll is a Pennywise plush that looks like the latest iteration of the fictional character from the IT films, based on Stephen King's novel, and it had some strange markings on its forehead. Of course, Jensen got scared.

"I turned it over and I jumped back and dropped the thing and yelled for Alex," Jensen said. "He picked it up and I was freaking out. It was creepy and it had weird...I don't even know what the writing was. It looked culty."

Jensen called the police since her boyfriend was about to leave for work, and they admitted that they were freaked out after seeing the Pennywise doll, and she said that they refused to touch it. After the officers left, she decided to burn the Pennywise doll.

"They left and then I burned the thing," she said. "I tried to burn it with a lighter. The stupid thing would not light because it has the flame retardant. Then I put olive oil on it. Still wouldn't light. Then I put newspaper on it and light it up on fire."

After the doll was burned to ashes, Jensen burned sage and walked around her property, trying to cleanse the area. At night, she still slept with a knife.

"I didn't want this thing on my property," she said. "I know people think it's crazy but...it's creepy."

The sequel is set 27 years after the Loser Club defeated Pennywise The Clown when they were young. Mike Hanlon, who stayed in Derry to keep watch over the town, calls up his old friends and tells them about their promise they made if Pennywise ever comes back.

The film stars James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Jay Ryan as Ben, Bill Hader as Richie, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley Uris, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. Bill Skarsgard plays Pennywise The Clown.

IT: Chapter 2 is set to release in theaters on September 6, 2019.
