Stan Lee is Reportedly Suing POW! Entertainment For $1 Billion

Marvel legend Stan Lee, who's famous for co-creating popular Marvel characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men, is reportedly suing POW! Entertainment for $1 billion USD.

The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, who reported that Lee filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday. The comic icon claims that the company — which he co-founded — stole his name and likeness to sell POW! to a Chinese company, a deal that wasn't disclosed to him.

According to the report, Lee argues that POW! CEO Shane Duffy and co-founder Gill Champion fraudulently took a document in which Lee gave over exclusive rights to his identity and likeness to POW. Apparently, that includes hacking his social media accounts, as Lee recently mentioned via Twitter.

"Lee does not recall anyone reading the Illegitimate Document to him, and, due to his advanced macular degeneration, he could not have read it himself," explains attorney Adam Grant in the filing. "While the Illegitimate Document purports to contain Lee's signature, Lee never knowingly signed it."

This is just the latest of Stan Lee's plethora of personal issues that were reported this year. The Marvel legend is also suing his former business manager Jerardo Olivarez for elder abuse. Olivarez has been accused of stealing Lee's blood to sell comic books in Las Vegas.
