New Magic: The Gathering Poll Reveals How Most Players Want to Play Competitive MTG

One of the best things about Magic: The Gathering esports is the breadth of play opportunities available to players, and although more players play Magic online now than ever before thanks to the success of MTG Arena, many players are still playing the tabletop version with actual cards, and there are major Magic tournaments for both types of play. But do more people prefer to play competitive Magic online or tabletop? That's the question of the latest poll started by the official Magic Esports Twitter account, and the answer is clear: more people would rather play competitive Magic in tabletop than online (MTG Arena or Magic Online).

According to the poll, 85.7% prefer tabletop Magic and 14.3% prefer online, which isn't surprising. The huge lead isn't surprising even though Hasbro's revenue from tabletop Magic declined in Q4 2019.

This is actually the second time the Magic Esports as asked this kind of question in a poll. The now-deleted poll they posted yesterday had "Arena" instead of "online" as a choice, but they probably changed it to include Magic Online players.

Guess WotC didn’t like the results only after 15 mins so they deleted it
