New Magic: The Gathering Arena Event Aims To Promote The Brawl Format

The new Magic: The Gathering Brawl format may not be getting enough attention from players but Wizards of the Coast is continuing to promote the new format on Magic: The Gathering Arena.

On the week of October 24, there will be new in-person Brawl events, which grants players access to free MTG Arena goods. All you you have to do is link your DCI (Duelists' Convocation International) number to your Wizards account (separate from Arena), and if everything is synced well, and that the store entered the info correctly and signed you up for email promotions, you'll get styles for "Command Tower", "Tome of Legends", and "Arcane Signet". The codes will be given out on October 31, the week after the event.

This is a great way to motivate players to play Brawl at their local game stores. It's a win-win for both physical and digital versions of MTG. This is similar to the promos Wizards has already been running with the free limited codes given out to players, and I hope they continue to run this kind of promotional event.

The four pre-constructed Throne of Eldraine Brawl decks are now available, and their prices recently spiked up. Just in case you haven't heard of the format, Brawl is a Commander singleton variant but with 60 cards instead of 100 and with the restrictions of Standard format.

Last month, there was a MTG Arena event that let players test the new Throne of Eldraine Brawl pre-constructed decks. You can watch me pilot the "Chulane, Teller of Tales" Bant deck below:
