The news comes from MTG head designer Mark Rosewater, who confirmed on his Blogtog that the first-ever legendary squirrel will be introduced in Unsanctioned, the silver-bordered preconstructed product that contains five combinable 30-card silver-bordered decks with sixteen brand-new Un-cards plus reprints of other cards from previous Un-sets like Unhinged, Unglued, and Unstable. The upcoming product will also include new full-art black-bordered basic lands with new gorgeous art. Here's what each copy of Unsanctioned will contain:

5 30-card decks
2 six-sided dice
10 double-sided tokens
10 full-art basic lands (5 regular, 5 premium)

Of course, they will introduce the legendary squirrel in a silver-bordered product since squirrels, in the world of Magic, are usually not taken seriously. They're often featured in joke sets like Unhinged, Unglued, and Unstable, but there was a time when Wizards of the Coast printed squirrel cards in black-bordered sets, and last month, Rosewater said he wants to see them back into black border again.

So what do you think the legendary squirrel in Unsanctioned will be like? Let us know in the comments section below.

Unsanctioned will be released on February 29, 2020 in English.
