Magic: The Gathering Will Have A Structure That Provides Invites To Players Tour Regionals/Finals Based on Consistent Grand Prix Finishes

If you're a Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix grinder who can consistently do well enough in high-level tournaments, then you will love what Wizards of the Coast is planning for the 2020-2021 season. In addition to Wizards of the Coast's major announcement about the future of MTG esports, the official Magic Esports Twitter account revealed that they're planning to have a structure that invites to Player Tours Regionals and Finals based on consistent finishes on Grand Prix events.

This is great news for tabletop Magic players who enjoy playing at Grand Prix events. Maybe Wizards of the Coast was listening to MTG pro Sam Black's open letter about the state of MTG esports that he tweeted last month. Although we still don't know the exact structure on how consistent Grand Prix finishers will get rewarded, it's great to hear that Wizards of the Coast is taking the players' feedback seriously and that they're making changes based on them to help improve the state of competitive Magic. We'll just have to wait until next year.
