The new Magic: The Gathering set War of the Spark features an epic story but it's the just the trailer and the cards' flavor texts that reveal story details; there' s a novel by Greg Weisman coming this month, and it's called War of the Spark: Ravnica. The book won't be released in the U.S. until April 23 but some countries are already getting an early copy of it, and now, some major story details have already leaked online.

Now, Redditor JeremieLight22 has shared some key plot points from the War of the Spark novel by Greg Weisman, so here's a final warning if you don't want to know major spoilers from War of the Spark.

Here are the key events that happened in the novel:

> Domri was helping innocent people, but when Bolas summon the Zombie Gods he changes his mind and swears loyalty to the Dragon
> Niv becomes the Guildpact thanks to the plan he left, Jace, Ral and Vraska do the job
> Ral was a double agent, he always was on Niv Side
> Chandra vs Dovin, she capture him and injures his eyes. He's now blind
> Chandra blows up the Inmortal Sun, she escape before taking damage
> Liliana betrays Bolas at the citadel and the Dragon becomes angry trying to kill her with the Demonic Contract, Gideon sees this and he gives his Immunity to Lili in exchange for taking the Bolas damage on his body. Gideon dies, Lili Lives
> Jace and Vraska kiss
> Tezzeret's arm is destroyed for a bomb then he leves Amonkhet
> Hazoret gives his spear to Samut and she let Niv Mizzet use it. Niv kills some Zombie Gods, but no Bontu.
> Lili controls Bontu and attack Bolas to steal his spark and kill him
> Ugin speaks to Jace's mind and says that Bolas should not be killed because he'll return even stronger
> Niv punish Ral, Vraska and Kaya, then give them Ral should search for Tezz and capture him. Vraska should search for Lili and Kill her and Kaya should search for Dovin and finish him
> Bolas ends in Meditation Realm where he meets his brother
> Ugin tells that this was his world even before Bolas becomes a walker, and that he helps Niv to reborn thanks to Sarkhan who save Niv's soul in a box made by Ugin
> Ugin tells Bolas that the gem in middle of Bolas horns is part of Ugin's soul and he saw every step and mistake from his brother
> Bolas can no summon magic anymore, not even a simple spell to fix his wing
> Ugin takes away both of Bolas names, now he can't be summoned ever
> Meditation Realm is now a Prision for Ugin and Bolas for eternity, none can leave or planeswalk there anymore.
> Ugin tells his brother that he'll become this jailer for eternity and expand himself all over the Meditation Realm
> Bolas have fear, he's nameless
> Ugin tells him now is all over
> Chandra and Nissa loves each other but let the conversation for later

It looks like Niv's missions for Kaya, Ral, and Vraska will set up the next arc for Magic: The Gathering. The original proposal for the multi-year Bolas story arc already revealed that Bolas loses the war, and now, we know how the Gatewatch, Ugin, Niv-Mizzet, and their allies manage to outwit him.

War of the Spark will be released on May 3, 2019. Prerelease events will take place on April 27-28. The War of the Spark novel will be released in the U.S. on April 23. It is also available on audiobook.
