Magic: The Gathering Store in Saudi Arabia Had Its First WPNQ; Watch The Video

The Middle East is usually not a region to go for Magic: The Gathering events like MagicFests and Mythic Championships but there are still some people playing the best trading card game in the world, and one store in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, just had its first Wizards Play Network Qualifier.

YouTuber The Saudi Geek released a video featuring players who participated in the WPNQ, and the Top 4 playing, and watch them pose with their prizes at the end.

According to the owner who shared the news on Reddit, all the cards they use are in English, and the store usually does Friday Night Magic events and Commander every week.

When he was asked if there are any issues with Saudi Arabia's religious police concerning the imagery of the MTG artworks, or names, he said: "Religious police aren't as active as they used to be many years ago and in general tcg games are fine. My store been running for few years now and we rarely had any issues."

It's fascinating to see the game's international reach, and hopefully, more people in the Middle East will discover Magic: The Gathering.
